
Ashley Thayer received a B.F.A. from The School of Visual Arts and an M.F.A. from Columbia University in New York, NY. She holds work in several art collections including the Saatchi Gallery in London, the Chicago Art Institute, and The Museum of the City of New York.
Her work from the Katharizo series will be included in a group show in Osaka, Japan called "Obsessions" -取り憑かれている情熱- at the MEM Gallery. The exhibition is curated by John Zorn, a renowned composer (and recipient of the "Genius Award" by the MacArthur Foundation) based in New York, who is also known as a virtuoso in antique, modern and contemporary art.
Ashley has been an adjunct professor of photography at The School of Art and Art Professions at New York University, Columbia University, and The New York Institute of Photography spanning the past five years.
For the past few years she has been a student of acting and film making. Ashley is in post production for a cinematic short she wrote, produced, directed and acted in called "Without You". She recently relocated to Los Angeles.
